What is a Proposal?

A proposal is a precursor to a finished Lexichroma Artwork. A proposal is a place where people can come together to explore what an artwork can be, and make it the best that they can.

Proposal Leaders

Proposal Leaders start proposals. They define what the proposal artwork is about, and articulate what the cultural contribution is. They rally people to collaborate on their proposal. They guide and nurture a proposal to completion, earn tokens in the process, and make a cultural contribution to humanity.

Proposal Leader's Functions

Proposal leaders:

Determine the artwork title, idea, and contribution.
Lead the research phase, and request research to collaborators.
Lead the sketch phase, request sketches, rate, and comment them.
Select the winning sketch that becomes the basis of the final artwork.
Find and recruit the artist or artists for the final artwork.
May choose at their discretion to request funding for their proposal.
Determine the final literature of the artwork.
Pick what collection gets the Curator's Allocation.

Proposal Research

Coming SoonProposal leaders coordinate a deep research phase, in which their team becomes knowledgeable in their chosen topic. Sources can include books, links, photographs, videos, documentaries, papers, surveys, statistics, charts, etc. The best leaders will reach out and request information from various online and offline sources, including conducting interviews.

Collaborative Sketching

All Artchemy members may submit sketches for any proposal. The community will then comment and rate each sketch. An iterative creative process will unfold, with feedback informing creativity, until the best creative ideas are surfaced.

Proposal Artist

Once sufficient time has passed, the proposal leader may close the sketching phase, and select the best sketch that will become the basis for the final artwork. Leaders will then search and recruit the best artist to make the sketch the final artwork. Once the final artwork is delivered, it is commented and rated by the community before being minted.

Proposal Funding

Coming SoonIf proposal leaders deem it worthwhile, they may request funding for their proposal, and set the return that funders would get for funding their proposal. Funding is requested in small milestones, in order to protect funders, and help leaders be more efficient.

Funder's Window

When a collector funds a proposal, they get tokens at a discounted rate. These tokens are delivered to the funder before anyone else. This allows the funder to be the first seller and set the initial price. This privilege lasts for 2 days, and is called the "Funder's Window".

Contributor Allocations

Coming SoonProposal leaders may assign token allocations to reward their contributors, including researchers, sketchers, artists, and promoters. We are creating a system for this that will maximize trust and transparency, and guarantee collaborators get their promised allocations.

Leader & Collaborator Evaluation

Coming SoonProposal collaborators rate each other on each proposal they collaborate on. This is designed to encourage everyone's best behavior, so people want to work with you again in the future. Proposal leaders also rate collaborators, and are rated by them.

Proposal Forks

If you are unhappy with the way a proposal is being led by its creator, you can fork the proposal and lead a different team with your vision. Keep in mind you are potentially dividing your audience when you fork a proposal, it might be better to compromise, or to work on a different idea.
