The Problems with NFTs

Typical NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, have 4 main problems:

1. 95% of NFTs don't sell and are worth zero, see the study.
2. Most NFTs are lack real meaning and contribute nothing.
3. Most NFTs have low quality production values.
4. The dominant motivation is to get rich at the expense of others.

Although blockchain is a great technology, and some NFTs like Crypto Punks are great contributions, these problems led to a sharp decline in the NFT market, and a destruction of their reputation with a large segment of the population.

The NFT Market Collapse

Monthly volume fell 98% from January 2022 to September 2023 on OpenSea, and monthly active users fell 78% during the same period, according to Dune Analytics.

Creating Something Unlike NFTs

Artchemy created something so new, that the feedback we got was that we shouldn’t even call them NFTs, to not confuse people. We decided to honor this feedback.

1. They're lexichroma artworks, deep integrations of painting and literature.
2. CCTs make a genuine contribution to our culture.
3. CCTs are created collaboratively.
4. CCTs undergo a rigorous quality control process.
5. CCTs require a high community rating to be minted.
6. CCTs can be compiled into books, for deeper educational value.
7. CCTs are true collectibles, not items of speculation.
8. CCTs can be exchanged for real, tangible, physical items.
